Quality Control Engineer
£35,000 - £40,000 per annum

Pin Point Recruitment is looking for a Quality Control Engineer to work within a manufacturing company based in Bedford.
The company have been manufacturing in the UK since 1980, across six manufacturing sites where they create mechanical, electrical, electronic and digital solutions that improve lives by transforming the spaces where people live, work and meet.
As the Quality Control Engineer, you will be responsible for the daily quality control within the manufacturing, assembly and dispatch areas of the site. You will work in cooperation with others developing and maintaining the companies Quality Management System and provide knowledge and skills to promote a positive quality culture in the workplace.
Quality Control Engineer Job Role:
Actively drive improvements in shopfloor quality through the implementation of formal procedures based on best practice.
To effectively manage and maintain the sample approval process.
Carry out internal audits and support purchasing with supplier audits.
Monitor and support performance improvement through data capture and reporting, including management review meetings.
Define shopfloor processes and procedures in conjunction with operational teams.
Cooperate with purchasing team to establish supplier quality performance criteria and monitor supplier performance.
Ensure compliance with ISO9001.
Co-ordinate and control equipment calibration.
Carry out quality meetings which include documenting quality issues and providing feedback.
Identify new processes and equipment to streamline production and provide cost reductions.
To monitor and control local quality training within the department and factory..
Provide support in the investigation and analysis of customer returns.
Report the status of technical related debit notes to Management.
Design and/or modification of QMS documents.
Identify critical components and criteria and with support from colleagues develop and implement an effective GII system.
Skills Required:
Have proven experience in Manufacturing and assembly environment and techniques including punch, folding, powder coating, welding and assembly
Be familiar with best practice in storage, movement and handling of metal components, assemblies, and finished products.
Be analytical and numerically astute with strong proven problem-solving skills.
Be driven with the ability to plan and deliver to meet project deadlines.
Have commercial and financial awareness.
Have experience of working in a busy environment with proven ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.
Have good interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining working relationships.
Be able to analyse complex situations and give balanced well considered decisions.
Have good IT skills and be familiar with MS Office packages
