Our Refuse and Recycling Driver positions involve operating vehicles such as dustcarts and recycling lorries, working closely with a team of loaders and operatives to ensure efficient collection services.

Typical duties include:

​

  • Driving refuse and recycling vehicles safely and efficiently

  • Supporting collection crews with waste loading and sorting

  • Adhering to local authority routes and schedules

  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations

Requirements:

​

  • Valid Category C (Class 2) licence

  • CPC and Digital Tachograph Card

  • Previous waste or recycling experience (preferred)

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills

Gardener Drivers 

Gardener Driver roles combine vehicle operation with grounds maintenance work — ideal for those who enjoy working outdoors and take pride in creating beautiful, well-kept public spaces.

Typical duties include:

​

  • Driving council vehicles to and from sites

  • Grass cutting, hedge trimming, planting, and general grounds care

  • Safe use of tools and machinery

  • Maintaining equipment and adhering to safety procedures
     

Requirements:

​

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Experience in grounds maintenance or horticulture

  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work outdoors in all weather

Dustcart Drivers

As a Dustcart Driver, you’ll be responsible for operating refuse collection vehicles, ensuring waste and recycling materials are collected and transported safely.
 

Key responsibilities:
 

  • Driving and operating dustcarts on planned routes

  • Supervising collection teams

  • Managing vehicle checks and reporting maintenance issues

  • Ensuring compliance with waste management standards
     

Requirements:
 

  • HGV Class 2 licence with CPC

  • Strong knowledge of local routes and waste collection procedures

  • Commitment to safe and efficient driving practices
