Salary: £12.21 per hour

Job Purpose:

To provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to residents within a care home setting.


Care Workers are responsible for meeting the physical, emotional, and social needs of residents, promoting dignity, respect, and independence at all times.


Key Responsibilities:

Personal Care & Wellbeing


  • Assist residents with daily personal care such as washing, dressing, toileting, and grooming

  • Support residents with mobility, using equipment as required

  • Assist with continence care, including the use of incontinence aids

  • Assist in the care of the dying and bereaved, ensuring privacy and dignity are maintained at all times.

  • Care of pressure sores


Health & Safety

  • Observe and report changes in residents’ physical or mental condition to senior staff

  • Follow care plans and risk assessments accurately

  • Ensure infection control procedures and hygiene standards are maintained


Daily Living & Social Support

  • Support residents with meals, including feeding assistance where necessary

  • Encourage and assist with participation in activities and social events

  • Provide companionship and emotional support

  • Support residents in maintaining contact with family and friends

  • Use of hoist and moving equipment as appropriate to the service user (i.e. in and out of bed/wheelchair).


Housekeeping & Record Keeping

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment

  • Carry out light domestic tasks (e.g., making beds, tidying rooms)

  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of care given

  • Report concerns or incidents promptly to the appropriate person


Requirements:

  • A caring, compassionate nature and strong communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently

  • Willingness to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays

  • Right to work in the UK

  • At least 6 months experience within a care setting in the UK
