Environmental Survey Operative

£13.48 per hour
The Environmental Survey Operative plays a crucial role in evaluating and improving recycling processes within the local authority.
The job involves identifying barriers to good waste management, reducing contamination and maximising recycling.
Key tasks:
· Carry out collection point surveys of dwellings and new developments to assess bin allocations and suitability.
· Complete basic data forms and escalate issues via appropriate channels to senior staff.
·Work with stakeholders to change and improve waste management behaviours.
· Work with waste and recycling crews to understand collection points.
· Drive to and from sites across the New Forest District as required.
· Utilise the councils ICT system to source data and information and update and maintain records.
· Keep secure accurate, effective and real time notes of visits, incidents and daily work to assist with enforcement cases.
· Be prepared to work flexibly across early mornings, evenings and weekends for planned visits.
Experience
Experience in a similar role or within the waste management sector is advantageous but not essential as training is provided.
Attention to detail to ensure accurate evaluations and excellent communication skills to effectively convey information and collaborate with team members are required.
Use of your own vehicle is necessary and £0.65 per mile is paid in weekly expenses.
