Maintenance Technician
Location: Washington
Hours: 2-shift (day/late) or 3-shift (day/late/night)
Salary: £40,000 basic depending on skills, experience + shift allowance
We’re looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to keep high-volume production equipment running smoothly through both planned and reactive maintenance.
What You’ll Do
· Perform routine inspections, planned and breakdown maintenance.
· Diagnose and repair faults on hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical drives, and PLC-controlled systems.
· Handle electrical issues: motors, VFDs, control panels, wiring, sensors, relays & safety systems.
· Support equipment installs, tooling changes, and upgrades.
· Work with production to reduce downtime and boost reliability.
· Keep accurate maintenance records and follow H&S standards.
· Participate in a 2- or 3-shift rotation, with occasional overtime.
What You’ll Bring to the team
· Experience in a manufacturing maintenance role.
· Strong mechanical or electrical fault-finding skills.
· Relevant qualification (apprenticeship, NVQ or time-served).
· Able to read schematics and drawings.
· Team player with good communication and safety focus.
