Partner / Senior Solicitor – Court of Protection (Property & Affairs)

Location: Leeds – Hybrid (2 days a week onsite)

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: Up to £80k (DOE, will go higher for the right candidates) + Bonus

Are you an experienced Court of Protection specialist ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for a proactive, confident and compassionate legal professional to join an expanding Court of Protection team as a Partner or Senior Solicitor.

You’ll work within a collaborative, friendly and ambitious department, supporting complex and high-value deputyship, trustee, and litigation-linked property & affairs matters generated by well-established clinical negligence and personal injury teams.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage your own caseload of high-value Deputyship and Trustee matters (pre- and post-settlement)

  • Supervise junior fee earners and support their technical development

  • Attend clients in their homes, hospitals, or care settings to review budgets and discuss priorities

  • Liaise with financial advisers on investments and longer-term financial planning

  • Prepare accurate accounts, forecasts and sustainability budgets

  • Manage Deputyship applications and broader Court of Protection property & affairs applications

  • Delegate tasks effectively and supervise team members with regular meetings and appraisals

  • Contribute to team meetings, training sessions and professional development activities

  • Support business development initiatives and help raise the internal and external profile of the team


Who We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years PQE in Court of Protection property & affairs

  • Strong experience with high-value or litigation-linked COP matters

  • Experience acting as Deputy and/or Director of a Trust Corporation

  • Proven expertise in statutory wills, gifts, and complex property & affairs applications

  • Compassionate, client-focused communicator able to support vulnerable individuals and families

  • Strong leadership skills with experience supervising and developing legal teams

  • Highly organised, professional and committed to exceptional client outcomes

  • Motivated by business development, networking and team visibility

  • Excellent time management and a proactive, forward-thinking approach
