Overview
A skilled Production Demand Scheduler is required to lead the planning function within a project-driven engineering environment. The role focuses on effective scheduling, material coordination, capacity planning, and ensuring timely delivery across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop the planning team, ensuring effective communication with Operations, Projects, Engineering, Sales, and Procurement.
Manage all Master Scheduling and integrate forecasts into the Master Production Schedule.
Maintain and optimise MRP data, resolve engineering/receiving issues, and manage change orders.
Monitor capacity and resource availability; update schedules to meet project demands.
Oversee inventory levels, material kitting, and stock parameters.
Provide regular schedule status updates and maintain planning dashboards/KPIs.
Ensure accurate creation, maintenance, and closure of work orders.
Support continuous improvement activities and ensure production orders meet time and cost targets.
Accountabilities
Ownership of production schedules and workflow priorities.
MRP/ERP system development and user support.
Inventory control and reduction of excess stock.
Delivery of accurate reporting, KPIs, and schedule adherence metrics.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Technical, engineering, or business-related education.
Strong MRP/ERP experience and ability to read engineering drawings.
Advanced Excel skills.
Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
5+ years’ planning/scheduling experience in engineering manufacturing, plus leadership experience.
Desirable
Project management training.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or similar ERP systems.
