Senior Production Planner(Project-Driven Engineering)

Overview

A skilled Production Demand Scheduler is required to lead the planning function within a project-driven engineering environment. The role focuses on effective scheduling, material coordination, capacity planning, and ensuring timely delivery across multiple projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the planning team, ensuring effective communication with Operations, Projects, Engineering, Sales, and Procurement.

  • Manage all Master Scheduling and integrate forecasts into the Master Production Schedule.

  • Maintain and optimise MRP data, resolve engineering/receiving issues, and manage change orders.

  • Monitor capacity and resource availability; update schedules to meet project demands.

  • Oversee inventory levels, material kitting, and stock parameters.

  • Provide regular schedule status updates and maintain planning dashboards/KPIs.

  • Ensure accurate creation, maintenance, and closure of work orders.

  • Support continuous improvement activities and ensure production orders meet time and cost targets.


Accountabilities

  • Ownership of production schedules and workflow priorities.

  • MRP/ERP system development and user support.

  • Inventory control and reduction of excess stock.

  • Delivery of accurate reporting, KPIs, and schedule adherence metrics.


Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Technical, engineering, or business-related education.

  • Strong MRP/ERP experience and ability to read engineering drawings.

  • Advanced Excel skills.

  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities.

  • 5+ years’ planning/scheduling experience in engineering manufacturing, plus leadership experience.


Desirable

  • Project management training.

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or similar ERP systems.
