Transport Operations Manager
Location: Port Clarence (with responsibility for Hebburn)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00
Salary: £48,112 + £8,000 Car Allowance
Holiday: 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays
Pin Point Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and driven Transport Operations Manager to lead operations at Port Clarence, with additional oversight of the Hebburn team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a transport professional with strong leadership skills and specialist compliance knowledge to take ownership of a key regional operation. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient day-to-day transport management, maintaining legal compliance, and delivering exceptional service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage transport operations across Port Clarence and Hebburn
Lead, motivate, and develop transport teams to achieve operational targets
Ensure full compliance with all transport legislation, including Drivers’ Hours and WTD
Manage route planning and operational efficiency to control costs and maximise performance
Monitor fleet and driver performance, implementing improvements where required
Ensure safe and compliant handling of tanker and hazardous goods operations
Investigate incidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented
Maintain high levels of customer service and operational reliability
Requirements
Transport Manager CPC (Essential)
Proven experience in transport operations management
Tanker experience (Essential)
DGSA / ADR knowledge or experience (Essential)
Strong transport planning experience
Excellent knowledge of transport compliance and legislation
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
