Pin Point Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner to join a well-established transport and distribution business operating a fleet of over 60 vehicles, ranging from 3.5 tonne vans through to Class 1 articulated vehicles.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy, fast-paced operation where you'll play a key role in ensuring efficient route planning, excellent customer service and maximum vehicle utilisation.
Experience planning pallet network deliveries is highly desirable, although applicants from other transport planning backgrounds will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning and routing daily vehicle movements across a large mixed fleet
Managing vehicles ranging from 3.5t vans through to Class 1 HGVs
Planning deliveries and collections across the South East
Liaising with drivers throughout the shift regarding routes, collections and operational issues
Maximising fleet utilisation while maintaining excellent customer service
Monitoring vehicle progress and responding to any operational challenges
Working closely with warehouse, customer service and transport teams
Ensuring compliance with Drivers' Hours, Working Time Regulations and transport legislation
Maintaining accurate transport records and supporting the smooth running of the operation
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years' experience in a Transport Planner role
Previous pallet network (TPN or similar) planning experience preferred but not essential
Strong geographical knowledge of Surrey and Sussex is advantageous
Experience planning multiple vehicles within a busy transport environment
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure
Experience using transport management systems
Positive, proactive and solution-focused attitude
Shift Patterns:
Applicants can choose one of the following permanent shift patterns:
Option 1
Monday to Friday
2:00pm to 11:00pm
Option 2
Sunday to Thursday
12:00am to 9:00am
Alternative working patterns may also be considered for the right candidate.
Salary & Benefits:
£32,000 - £42,000 per annum, depending on experience
